BookLoom stores your book club data — your member name, clubs you belong to, books you propose, ratings, and notes — locally on your device and in your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. Your display name and basic preferences are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
BookLoom uses Apple’s CloudKit to sync your clubs, proposals, ratings, and notes across your own iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and to share clubs with other members you invite via Apple’s built-in sharing (CKShare). Shared data is hosted in iCloud under each member’s own Apple ID. ShadowPuppet, LLC has no access to your iCloud data, your Apple ID, or the contents of your shared clubs.

BookLoom does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers operated by us. Specifically, we do not collect:
BookLoom may offer optional in-app purchases in the future. If it does, all payment processing will be handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.
BookLoom does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs, pixels, or external scripts in the app.
BookLoom does not require any account creation, login, or authentication on our servers. To use iCloud sync and sharing, you must be signed in to iCloud on your device through Apple’s standard system settings.
BookLoom does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is intended for use by reading groups and book clubs of any age, but it does not include public social features or external communication mechanisms.
You can delete your data at any time by removing yourself from clubs, deleting clubs you own, and uninstalling the app. Data stored in your private iCloud container can also be deleted through the iCloud system settings on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
